Radiocentre launches new Audio Ad of the Year Award

Radiocentre is partnering with Campaign to find and award the best audio ad of 2022. The new Radiocentre Audio Ad of the Year Award celebrates creativity in audio advertising and champions the teams behind the winning work.

Free to enter from today, the new annual award offers creatives the opportunity to gain recognition for excellence and creativity in audio advertising in the last 12 months.

Entries will be judged by two top creative directors on scripting, production, creative execution, memorability and resonance. The judges will then have the tough task of creating a shortlist of three ads to be profiled in Campaign.

The inaugural winner will be chosen by the Campaign audience, who will be able to vote online throughout December for their favourite ad. The winning entry will be announced in January and showcased in Campaign.

The award launches at a time when the UK commercial radio industry is in excellent health. It is experiencing record highs in listening hours and continues to grow its share over the BBC.

Lucy Barrett, client director at Radiocentre, said: "We know from our history with creative awards like the Aerials, celebrating stand out audio inspires teams to be more ambitious with their creative. In turn this makes advertising more effective and enjoyable to hear. Commercial audio listening continues to grow, offering more advertising opportunities for brands than ever before, so we can’t wait to hear what the UK ad industry has created this year.”

To be eligible to enter, work must have featured in an ad break on UK commercial radio at some point during 2022.

Enter for free via the Radiocentre website by 30 November 2022.

In the past two years, Radiocentre ran a ‘favourite ad of the year’ poll on its website. Here are some of the inspiring ads that featured:
